Information we collect
For the leaderboard we store the initials and country you choose for your tag, your game scores, and your per-round guesses. Your progress and sound preference are kept in your browser, not by us.
How we use it
Only to run the game: show leaderboards, enable challenges, and tune difficulty from how everyone guesses. We do not sell or share your information.
Cookies & storage
We keep cookies to a minimum — there are no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. We set one strictly-necessary cookie holding a random, anonymous id so your scores can attach to you on the leaderboard; the game can’t work without it, so it doesn’t require consent. We measure visits with anonymous analytics that don’t identify you. Your preferences and game progress are saved in your browser’s localStorage (not a cookie) and stay on your device.
Your rights
You can clear your on-device data and cookies any time in your browser settings — note that clearing the identity cookie starts you fresh on the leaderboard. To delete the leaderboard data tied to your id, email support@shootout.app.
Use of the game
Shootout is free, for your personal, non-commercial use. You agree not to use bots or automated tools, manipulate scores or the leaderboard, reverse-engineer the game, or disrupt the service.
User content
The only thing you submit is your tag — the initials and country shown by your score. Don’t choose anything offensive, hateful, or impersonating; we may remove or reset any tag that breaks this rule.
Intellectual property
The Shootout name, design, and code belong to Shootout. The football footage shown remains the property of its respective rights holders; if you hold rights to a clip and want it removed, email support@shootout.app and we’ll act promptly.
Disclaimer
Shootout is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. We don’t guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or always available.
